If you live in a more rural area, you probably see quite a bit of wildlife around your home. And if you see a lot of wildlife, that means that there is much more activity that you never see.

Animals will only come into the area when they can find easy access to the three things that all animals seek – food, shelter and water. If you want to keep them away, you should deny them those things.
Your garbage can turn out to be a treasure trove for many scavenging animals. Keeping your garbage well-closed will minimize the risk of them smelling food scraps or other things that are edible. If necessary, having a small shed to keep your garbage in can serve as a deterrent for most animals.
